The Cross of the Knight “For the Merits to Lithuania” is a national award awarded to KTU prof. P. Vanagas for special merits in the areas of culture and education. Thanks to his efforts, Department of Quality Management was established at Kaunas University of Technology in 1997. P. Vanagas wrote the first Lithuanian textbooks on scientific organisation and standardisation of work, and quality management. Professor’s area of research activities – university studies and research in the area of total quality management.
