Prof. Juozas Indriūnas – pioneer of the textile technologies in Lithuania; he was admitted to studies at the Technical Faculty of the University of Lithuania in 1922. He acquired a qualification of the engineer-technologist and established the Textile Research Laboratory under the Laboratory of Material Strength in cooperation with prof. K. Vasiliauskas. He defended his dissertation “Flexing Causes Fatigue in Wool Fibres” (Lit. “Vilnų plaukeliai lankstomi pavargsta”) in 1936. He is the author of 10 inventions.
